We
sailed in
1959

Our beloved restaurant was opened in 1959 by D. Diego Mena Llorca and María Cuesta Llidó, together with their children Diego Mena Cuesta (alma mater), María and Vicenta. At that time it was a hut made of reeds. In 1960 it already had a covered part and the rest was still made of reeds. At different heights, as the cliffs left us.

In our early years, we used to prepare our paellas in the open air? Imagine how complicated it was to cook with firewood in the open air, as you know the wind that blows around here.

Diego Mena Cuesta together with his wife Josefa Larrosa Navarro created the third generation that is at your service and dedication, Diego, María, Mónica and Natividad.

Our boat, as we usually call it, is located right on the cliffs at the end of Les Rotes. Every day we set sail with new clients and friends whom we like to make feel at home... As the founder used to say, the best place to eat is undoubtedly at home, and then at this one.

Don Diego already said it: "The Mena is worth it." Do you know why? Because every day we work with enthusiasm to offer you a familiar and close service. Because our cuisine is the same as always, made with love and always using the best product the sea has to offer. And because we are in a privileged environment to which we have total gratitude and respect. The Mediterranean region of Denia

Just
like at home

Sharing a meal at Mena is much more than just enjoying our dishes... It's about making a family, it's about feeling our Mediterranean roots, it's about boasting about who we are. We love to make you feel at home and we want you to become part of our family!

Our aim is to make you enjoy yourself as much as possible so that when you return to land you are already looking forward to sailing with us again.

Les
Rotes

Our boat is located in a unique place, Les Rotes. This is the coastal area in the south of Dénia, which is gradually transforming from the sand of Marineta Cassiana to the cliffs. In the middle, rocky coves that form small bays, backwaters of crystal clear water full of life, such as Punta Negra. Les Rotes is one of the most beautiful areas of Dénia, which has been receiving visitors for decades. It is a marine reserve and a place where cetaceans and many species of birds can be sighted.

Paradisiacal
enclave

At the end of Les Rotes, where the Montgó descends and meets the sea, you will find our restaurant. Next to the cove of Les Arenetes, and with the Cape of San Antonio in the background. The Torre del Gerro watches over us from above, just as it did with the pirates in the 16th century. The immense sea before us, and also, on our plate.
